Renowned for a strong affiliation with the music scene and throwing a braw festival, Scotland readies itself to welcome Doune the Rabbit Hole for its eighth year.
The independent music and arts festival arrives at the scenic Cardross Estate in Stirlingshire from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 August.
With ‘typical Scottish summer weather’ predicted for the inaugural night, you might want to look out the wellies.
Get yourself Doune the Rabbit Hole
The much-loved Scottish weather aside, this family-friendly festival takes centre stage in the region this year with the continued absence of Scotland’s ‘other’ annual festival.
And with the DoubleTree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro in close reach, only 30 minutes away, there’s never been a better time to tick both places off the list in one weekend.
A closer look at the line-up
Several iconic names are set for the serene surroundings of Stirlingshire this year including Songhoy Blues performing at their only Scottish gig, and LA-based punk band Ho99o9.
Another stand out name on the bill is none other than six-time World Championship snooker champion and former Crucible maestro turned ‘Snookerstar DJ’, ‘The Nugget’, Steve Davis.
Scottish supergroup Start to End will then bring proceedings to a close on Sunday with what’s set to be a showstopping take on Daft Punk’s multi-platinum 2001 album, Discovery.
Bring the WHOLE family
The organisers of Doune the Rabbit Hole clearly don’t want anyone missing out with this three-day family-friendly event. They even encourage you to bring along canine companions.
When they say they care about having fun, they mean it. So much so, they say it on their website: “We take family fun seriously…very seriously!”
With a host of workshops for kids, arts, crafts and more, there’ll be no concerns over the kids getting bored or a restless pooch.
There’s even a special family camping area away from revellers partaking in the late-night refreshment run and to ensure a good nights’ sleep before the early start.
