Have you ever wondered what it feels like to fly? How about having the stunning vistas of Scotland’s Central Belt command your views and frame your mid-air meanderings?
Buckle up, because this summer you can reach new heights at the Stirling Parachute Centre in Perthshire – and yes, they supply the wings. Here goes a plot for one of the most thrilling, adrenaline-filled days out in Stirling you can hope to experience.
Ready, Set, Go
On those long summer days, Stirling Parachute Centre effortlessly beckons all adventurous types – and they would do well to flock over to this quaint spot of Perthshire countryside. The Centre runs beginner courses for those looking to make their first parachute jump or skydive.
Amazing is a mild way to put it – we can guarantee you’ll be blown away by the panoramas and the sheer excitement of making your first jump.
With years of experience and cheerful instructors that transmit the confidence you need to tackle this once-in-a-lifetime feat, you’ll be in the safest of hands. Choose from training intended for solo first jumps, static line or tandem skydiving, available all year round on Saturdays and Sundays.
Tandem skydiving is the right option for you if you’re completely new to this sport. You’ll take the plunge attached to your instructor, who will have control over the freefall, parachute opening and landing while you relish the brand new sensation of being airborne. The activity costs £280, with a £50 deposit payable when you make a booking.
Static line, on the other hand, costs £160 and caters for people who want to learn how to skydive independently. Benefit from the comprehensive syllabus of the British Parachute Association to get your skills up to scratch and enjoy the exhilaration of skydiving by yourself.
If you’re in a generous mood, the Stirling Parachute Centre also provides gift vouchers. Treat your loved ones to a memory that will stay with them forever. You can also jump for free and raise money for these UK charities: CancerResearchUK, Diabetes UK, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland or Oxfam Scotland.
Raising £400 gets you a tandem skydive or static line course for free, and reaching the £500 mark will win you a free DVD recording of your experience for the day. Encourage your family, friends and workmates to sponsor your skydive and raise as many funds as you can for a great cause. At the end of the day, everyone’s awarded with a certificate celebrating their efforts.
