8. Andy Murray's Gold Postbox

Be sure to visit the Andy Murray postbox in the high street of Dunblane. It was painted gold in honour of Murray's victory over Roger Federer in the London 2012 Olympics final.

While in the village, visit the cathedral amid a clutch of old-world buildings, among them the 17th century Dean's House. The Allan Water is spanned by a 16th-century single-arch bridge as it flows through the town and there are a number of good riverside walks.
