For some, the depths of winter represent a dark and dank time of year when there’s really very little to do other than to pray for an early summer. If you ask us however, there’s really no better time to get yourself away from the daily grind and remind yourself than in certain parts of the UK, the winter can be the most beautiful season of all.
Lucky for you, our hotel just so happens to be situated right at the heart of one of them!
With deals up for grabs like our Winter Special Offer packages, taking a short break to Scotland's wee hidden gem has never been more affordable. And with no sign of anything close to a respite from the winter on the immediate horizon at least, why not treat the family to a well-deserved break to rest-up and reinvigorate in the midst of nature’s finery?
We’re often asked what it is that makes Dunblane so special, which in all cases makes it clear that the person asking has never been here. There are certain corners of the UK that just seem to have that special ‘something’ about them – a magic you can neither put your finger on nor pinpoint, but it’s there. This is exactly the case in Dunblane, which becomes apparent the moment you step outside and breathe in the unique charm and atmosphere.
The stunning cathedral represents something of a centre-point for the town as a whole, which is thought to have had a resident population since as far back as the year 602. And while a great many changes have crept into the equation since then, you still get the feeling you’re wandering around a piece of living history…which you are!
And while we may be situation extremely close to some of Scotland’s most important cities and towns, there’s so much to do in and around Dunblane itself that you need never stray too far.
Did we mention there’s even a rare golden post box in Dunblane to commemorate Andy Murray’s win at the 2012 Olympic Games?
An Abundance of Attractions
History really does come to life in Dunblane and you don’t need to be a history buff to enjoy every bit of it. You’ll simply revel in the sights and sounds the local culture serves up, along with hugely important historic sites including:

- The Trossachs – One of the Britain’s proudest expanses of outstanding natural beauty is right on our doorstep, delivering breath-taking panoramas. Take a stroll, hire a bike or set sail on Loch Katrine – it’s your trip, your rules!
- Wallace Monument – Immerse yourself in the original story of Braveheart…not the Mel Gibson movie…at the incredibly famous landmark which overlooks the area where The Battle of Stirling Bridge took place.
- Rob Roy’s Grave – You’ll also find the grave of Scotland’s answer to Robin Hood not far from the hotel, making for a great afternoon immersed in Scotland’s rich folklore
